There was no hard or charge. I swam a 1500 prior to the ride thinking I was a machine immune to the effects of my aquatic feat. I wasn’t a machine. The minute the climb turned up the San Diego River Trail, I was a goner. Instantly. Surprisingly, the numbers don’t reflect the low energy. At least the total time doesn’t. It’s not the best metric to gauge performance, but I’ll take it!
